Gunshow in PA @ Harrisburg Farm Center

Post by RgrNo1Shtr »

Can anyone provide info on this show? I have heard reports in the past that it was pretty good. I had thought of going this weekend but decided not too. Matters at home to take care of, and didn't want to make a three hour drive for disappointment. My interest is fine sporting arms, not Rambo stuff.

Wish I would have spotted this sooner...IMO this show is 100% better than the Chantilly show. They din't have near the non-gun related stuff and a wider selection...sorta like the way a gun show use to be. On a side note...there are mulitple show at the farm complex...this one and one in late spring are the ones to go to. The others can be hit or miss.

I grew up just north of Harrisburg and used to love going to the Farm Show. I've never been to the gun show there though, but you did bring up some good memories of a simpler time of my life. My old stompin grounds is the epitome of the statement of "people clinging to there bible and their guns". There is a huge section of the population who hunts and carries, and I know from my Dad, that hasn't changed. I remember going with him to the Chief of Police in Millersburg to pick up his concealment permit. Musta been close to 35 years ago. Anyway, Thanks for the trip down memory lane and hope you enjoy the show.

Anytime DWinter, I also grew up in PA, in the northeastern anthracite area. Small town of Coaldale PA about 60 or so miles northeast of Harrisburg. When I was growing up, THE sports were hunting and fishing. My area has changed however, when the anthracite mines shut down alot of people scattered, got integrated into other areas and now retiring and moving back. Also, alot of New Yorkers have moved in, so it just isn't the same. However I too have a lot of fond memories.
