this doesnt surprise me that he that to say about ME, i dont want to speak for anyone else, but i have always known this mag to be liberal minded. Thats fine too BTW, i jsut wonder if any other liberal based item thinks like this? granted this is jumping at straws, but could this lead to more liberal based gun control? who knows. but with the govt split the way it is now, you can bet that the liberals are going to fight tooth and nail to make the repubs look like the ones who are causing the harm over the next 2 years.

With respect to this practice of crying "Racist!" because I don't agree with/support a man that is not the same color as me, I think that's a cowardly response.
Juan Williams is a black man. He's also a self professed liberal. However, the man is mature, polite, intelligent and professional. And he conducts himself accordingly. For that, he has my respect. I don't agree with his lines of thinking, but I respect the man.
So, all that being said, you're going to label me a racist because I don't agree with/support our president because he's black?

And you can bet that the closer we get to 2012 the more they will play the racist (or is that waissist? ) card. There is a gentleman from Florida who was on Fox after having won a House seat on Tuesday. He is a black Republican, and there are more like him who will be sworn in in January. That has gotta be driving Keith Olbermann, Nina Totenberg and their ilk crazy. (Good!)

Sounds to me like Vanity Fair needs to have a refresher on the 2nd Amendment. Seems to me those wascally waissists are more patriots who care for their country than whatever portrait they are trying to portray...

And Vanity Fair is actually just quoting the Dept. of Homeland Insecurity's "report" on "Rightwing Extremism". I'm obviously not a right-winger, but as a veteran and a pro-2A American citizen, apparently I, too, qualify as a potential "radicalized" extremist...at least, according to that "report". Now, is there rightwing extremism out there? Of course there is! There's extremism of all types. And sadly, yes, the racism they describe is there, too (I just saw it yesterday at the gun show). But simply being a right-wing gun owner does not automatically make someone a racist nutjob.

Does Vanity Fair understand that their anti-gun position is actually itself racist, given the initial inspiration for these anti-2A laws on the books today?

Oh my. I own a gun, want more, and as a left-winger I voted for Obama, will do so again, and dont feel particularly angry because life is good and as for being scary, well, I dont think so, but I've been told I look like a Russian mafia assassin, so who knows?

Can you name one step by his administration to curtail gun rights? I mean an actual bill, not propaganda.

In fact he removed a law passed by Reagan banning the carry of guns in national parks. Sorry, but the rhetoric about Obama being a gun grabber is an NRA fund raiser and useful for driving ammo sales and not rooted in fact. When I see him make a move I will believe it.

Unfortunately, my eyes are open wider than just the gun issues. Not to mention that his term is FAR from over, so there's plenty of opportunity for him to make a move on gun-owners' rights before 2012.
