Just found this site yesterday ! Really like the Range Report forum idea.

For those looking for a range in Central VA, we are located on 324 acres in Amherst County.
Pistol Range is 50 meters with a covered firing line, wooden benches. Rifle range has berms at 100, 200, and 300, covered line, concrete benches. We host SASS, NRA HP, NRA Bullseye, 300 yd. FClass, and assorted fun matches, all open to the public.

Membership to the local chapter of I WLL is a pre-req for Range membership.

I WLL membership also comes with access to the Trap & Skeet fields, fishing lake, swimming lake, nature trails, Clubhouse and Pavilion use, camping/etc.

I am a member of the Prince William chapter, in Bristow. Gun club meeting is tomorrow at noon or 1pm, I forget.

Too bad NRA membership is a requirement. After their support of Tom Perriello and other libs, that organization would be the last one I'd give a dime to.

I agree that their policy of endorsing incumbents who voted correctly on gun issues without considering other "freedom" issues could use tweaking. But you can't change that policy from outside, and they are a one -issue group. NO organization or person I know of is perfect. You're still welcome to any of the matches and the annual Open House w/o joining !

FYI- the Izaak Walton League of Lynchburg has an Open House scheduled for August 27 , 2011(10AM to 6PM) . Fishing lake, swimming lake, kiddy pool, Trap & Skeet ranges, R & P ranges all open to the public(11AM to 4PM). Food available. Chapter rules do require firearms to enter Park unloaded, RSO's will be on duty, check in with one before breaking out the artillery !

PS- probably be a few subguns there from 1PM to 3PM .
