A Springfield Micro Compact(finally.) .45 and I'm in love, again. I was looking for a carry 1911 style and glad I found this one. It's my first 3" 1911 and gotta say, it is a shooter. I wasn't expecting it to have as much of a kick as it does, but I've quickly gotten used to it. If anything, I think it's a little funner to shoot than a full size only because it feels like it wants to be a much bigger caliber than it is. I still wouldn't pass on 4" 1911 (*cough* v10 ultra *cough*) but for now, this will do. I'm currently carrying it in a DeSantis 026D6 IWB but thinking of looking into a nice OWB if I can sneak out of my family obligations this weekend for a quick tour of the Chantilly gun show.

Not really planning anything for it other than maybe another set of grips, maybe. I wouldn't mind a nice thinline wood grip to fit my oompa-loompa hands better.

No, it's a grip with a rubber finger groove insert underneath. I don't remember who makes the insert offthe top of my head.

Thanks. That grip insert is a Pearce, it just goes underneath your grip of choice to add the rubber finger groves. Heres a link if interested:
