That being said, there are some excellent deals. You must know what you are looking at though. Most of the handguns and cheap rifles haven't been that great. The really good bargains have been on expensive stuff (both by dollar amount and %, which is weird). I don't know how they are calculating "at cost." Keep your head and shop around.
I did order two rifles and saved about $150 over the next best price, but these were expensive to start with. The sale price was approx. 30% off of MSRP which is the average markup on guns. The next best price was at 15-20% off of MSRP (I know this kitchen FFL and he makes about 10%). If the sale isn't getting close to that number, it probably really isn't at cost or they are calculating costs differently than the marketing would have you believe. The Springfield dealer price is much less than $500, that much I know.
