More on the Ammo shortage!

Post by VBshooter »

Here is an angle on the ammo shortage that I haven;t heard yet, Previously I had read that the shortage was 2 fold,, Military use in Iraq and Afganistan, and people here just going crazy due to Obama's nazi youth groups proposed plans...Now this guy writes that the cops are increasing their numbers in paramilitary units and "patrol" weapons like the AR15....This kind of reading does make ya wonder if the SOB;s are expecting more trouble or is numb nuts (Obama and company) actually thinking about a gun grab, Let's hear some opinions!http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/nationwide ... e-hits-us/

I think the correct answer, as far as what's to blame for the high demand for ammo, is all the above. While the military's demand for ammunition had probably remained the same, law enforcement and the general public's demand has increased considerably.

The companies that manufacturer ammunition are hesitant to add more capital expense for buildings, equipment and personnel if the current administration is going to increase taxes and drive their business overseas. Most of these companies view the current high demand as a bubble market. Much like the housing market was in a bubble back in 2002 - 2005. If the bubble bursts, they will be stuck with the overhead from their increased production. Personally, I don't see this happening. The current events in this country, and around the world, tell me that this high demand is sustainable. Provided that the current anti-gun administration doesn't get their wish, and make ammunition so expensive that only the military and law enforcement can afford it.

If we all survive this current administration's rein of terror for another three years with our 2A rights intact, the demand for guns and ammunition may return to a reasonable level. Until then, stock up on everything you can find. They'll just make more.

I'm telling you from a FFl3 and a explosives dealer friend for Camp Peary (Camp Peary is where the CIA operatives train) here in Williamsburg that if you have an existing contract w/ a federal agency, you are now limited as to what you can ship. Primers are sitting in container ship cartons and wont be unloaded and the ones that are slated to be destroyed. Georgia Arms and other reloaders that have fed contracts to reuse once fired brass are not getting it because the Fed agencies are having to DESTROY once fired casings, mandated by the White House. GA bitched to their and a few other senators about the FEDERAL contract they have , so some limited quantity is getting thru to them.
The White House is backdooring the GUN BAN issue by limiting ammo available. And the FFL dealer said that he is now filling out paperwork and calling phone numbers linked directly to the White house for approval to ship/receive. He has NEVER had to do that before. With all the BS going around with the stimulus package, nobody is doing ANY research or reporting on as to why this is happening without the House or Congress' dissent or knowlege.
And now that the WH sent out the file on the "right wing extremists" that COULD potentially do some damage, you go figure where this is going. Brown shirts and all......
Say goodbye to Democracy and hello to a police state. It's just a matter of time.

Oh, and maybe, just maybe, the local police agencies are stockpiling to thwart any move by the "law abiding citizens" to retain their guns. Just an idea, albeit far fetched......
