The best I can offer is C2 Shooting Center in the Pungo section of Virginia Beach.

Someone on the Peninsula might be able to make a recommendation in the other direction.

Well, I just joined the Lafayette Gun Club and have my orientation next Sunday. It is a pretty nice place.

25 yrd outdoor
50 yrd outdoor
100 yrd outdoor

trap/skeet range

indoor Air Rifle range
indoor pistol range that is open 24/7.

They are located on route 17 behind the Newport News Airport (if looking at map)

http://www.4lgc.org/
Once at the link, click the "Get Map" button in the middle of the page and zoom out a little to see where it is in relation to the Airport.

The only problem with the LGC is that I am new here and don't know any members.

Since you were out to sea, I am assuming you are military..... if that's the case, do you have a 4-day weekend? We can shoot for tomorrow afternoon if you want. I will have to check the website and see if they have any matches or anything going on. They usually only occupy one of the ranges, but my luck is they are usually on the range I want to go on, haha. So I plan around them. I can't access the calendar from work, so I have to wait until I get home.

Unknown,

Yes, I am in the Navy. Not quite a four day weekend, I have to work monday. Feel free to email me at bealaskan@yahoo.com and I will give you my number.

I will be bringing an MSAR AUG. First time firing it, so zeroing at 100M could be an adventure.

I'll shoot you an email tonight when I get home from work. Since you have the MSAR, I am assuming it is the STG-556.... does that have the scope on top? If so, I have a new laser bore sighter that I bought about 2 weeks ago. It has computer software to input the caliber, ammo type, and sight-in range, and you can print a sight-in target for the laser. After using the laser on the sight-in target, you should be dead on after a couple of rounds down range. Not unless you have a cheap scope like me! LOL.

Yes, it is the STG556 with the cheap scope. I do need to find me some good 5.56 ammo. All I have now is some Georgia Arms .223.

Anyone know of any relatively near NoVa? I have heard of the Cove Campground and Clarks Brothers.

I wouldn't mind getting a few more names to research. Preferably one that will let you set up your own targets and fire up to (not necessarily including) .50 cal.

Phelps WMA but its seasonal and long guns only. Mainly for sighting in but lots use it just to shoot. Its a decent range but only 100 yards.
No more catchy slogans for me...I am simply fed up...4...four...4...2+2...
