Hello from Alexandria
Hi, my name's Ian, and I live around Mt. Vernon near Alexandria. I've been to these forums as a nonmember for nearly a year now. Well, I decided to join these forums because everyone here is a nice, cool, and knowledgeable. I like that. I'm also always looking for new places to hunt, and I know people announce events and such on these forums. I like meeting new people who love guns and hunting as much as I do.

Welcome Ian, check out the meet and greet thread. Sgt Bill's info is there. There is a pretty good sized group planning on going and a lot of people are camping out overnight at Bill's place. It should be a blast, pardon the pun.

Welll, phooey. I can't make it then. That weekend is right on when I finish an internship and have to do a presentation at my school on it in order to graduate. My presentation happens to be... guess when!? The 5th. =(
Maybe next year. By the way, Zephyp, you're in Springfield? Where do you go to hunt? I have a hard time finding places. The only place I go is middleburg, and that's only a few times a year since it's my friend who knows the owner, not me.

Yup, Springfield. Phelps WMA (south) and Thompson WMA (west) are both about an hour away from the beltway. Phelps isnt bad and doesnt get as crowded as you would think. Thompson is more difficult and crowded. I've only hunted the WMAs this past season. I also get invited for private hunts from time to time. I havent checked out Rapidan WMA which is a little farther away but I hear its one of the better WMAs. Nice big place so you can spread out.Iqentab308 wrote:Welll, phooey. I can't make it then. What I'd really like to do is go ninja style in Accotink...
Here's a link to the public hunting areas and WMA map...
