RUGER89,
Welcome to the VGOF, please sto by the new members area and introduce yourself...
as far as your issue...the only item that comes to my mind, (which is kinda small) is that you are missing the metal flange/seer ( the specific name currently escapes me ) that grabs the round off of the top of the clip and pushes it into the forcing cone....does it look like anything is missing from the slide?? silly question, but you are sure you have the right clip???
Honestly, I would recomend a quality gunsmith, that willl certainly make up for any savings you had by buying it w/o a clip at a pawn shop...
I am going to guess this was a "as is" sale...?
The great news is that you have come to the right place for leads and discussion...and many will chime in...
welcome welcome!

Be particular, and be vigilant, as the enemy will only attack on two occasions:
When you're ready or when you're not ready.
Also never forget, that everyone who shows up, is not necessarily there to help.

Here's a link to a manual for that pistol. It has detailed tear-down drawings if you need to disassemble it.

Your Baby Browning is not missing any parts from what I see in your photos. I also have one and I would have to say that your clip is either not the right one for the weapon or the upper lips on the clip might be bent the spring could be too weak or the follower is not correct. It is hard to tell what the problem is without seeing the weapon. You did not say where you are from in Va. if it is close or you are going to try and make it to the June 5th. and 6th. shoot and greet & meet at my place I will be happy to take a look at it for you. I am just outside of Keysville.

I also own a Baby Browning and need 2 Magazines for it. Seems difficult to find. Mine is a Browning bought 1970 Serial NO.460492. Always owned it. Had gun stolen and when brought back by police was missing magazine. Any idea where to buy ?

It may not be working because you are using clips and bullets. What you need are magazines and cartridges.
Seriously, find a local gunsmith (TTI in Hanover worked on my BB) and have them look at it.

Go to Numrich Arms sight at www.GunPartsCorp. com and look up your magazine under baby browning parts. It is a replacement Mag. not an org. for about 34.00

If your in RIchmond today (4/10/10), stop by the VCDL table at the Gun Show this afternoon at RIR. I bought a used Mag for my .25 ERMA couple of months ago but it is just a hair short. I'll let you have it for $10.00 (the mag that is)

On the serious side we do need to learn the proper nomenclature for what we use and do...too much ignorance already about guns being inappropriately used by the MSM and others against our rights...
