I've been inundated with requests from the NRA-ILA, the NRA, VCDL, and GOA to write, call, and email my local, state, and federal legislators asking them to support, oppose, or thank them various pieces of legislation that relate to firearms. I know this post starts out complaining about the number of requests from these organizations, by no means is that true. I truly thank and appreciate everything they've done, I thank them for doing what they're doing which is fighting for our rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment. I'm trying to do as much as I can so that I know in my mind that if anything happens, I've done as much as I can to try to prevent unreasonable gun control from gaining a foothold. So what has everyone here done in terms of volunteering, writing, educating, and improving rights and regulations for all of us responsible firearms owners?
The reason that I ask this question is to try to spread some ideas around about what others do to support the Second Amendment, not only for my benefit, but for the benefit of people who struggle to figure out what they can do to become active in supporting gun rights.
Some of the things that I would like to do next are attend a lobbying day in Richmond, attend the Second Amendment March http://www.secondamendmentmarch.com, and go to some local events to speak with my local legislators.
What are you doing to prevent unnecessary gun control?

Re: What are you doing to prevent unnecessary gun control?
I would have to say that my main effort has been to start this forum in an effort to help get the word out to people who aren't members of the organizations that you listed and to provide a place for open discussions of Virginia law and our rights. I am hoping that Google likes this site and brings a lot of people here to find Gun related information in Virginia and throughout the country.
I like the Second Amendment March idea. I just emailed them to see if they will add our forum to their "Useful Links" - especially since Virginia is adjacent to DC, I think wee can have some good input on this event.
