Dems change rules to suit ther agenda

Post by VBshooter »

I received this information from Senator Mark Obenshain reagrding the new "special" comittee appointed to kill gun bills... A clear case of the Democrats changing the rules to suit their needs.Seems to be a Democratic disease this year.... What PO's me is their does not seem to be a lot of protest in the Senate about it. Another PITA is the fact that we won't be able to change the Senate until late next year and political winds change constantly.. Here is the first section of the senators reply. "Quote"My Votes on the Budget
and Senate Leadership Playing Games

Dear Friend,

About two weeks ago, the Democratic leadership of the Senate of Virginia decided that bills could die in subcommittee. The Rules of the Senate had not been amended, and no new interpretation was advanced: it's just the way things are going to be.

And so it is. Fast forward to this past Thursday, when a special subcommittee in Senate Courts of Justice, created for the express purpose of bottling up bills (mostly gun bills) the committee's chairman doesn't like, met and killed bill after bill.

They killed a dozen bills in that meeting, denying the full committee the opportunity to vote on them, as has always been the Senate's policy (subcommittees make recommendations, but, until now, never had the power to kill a bill). These weren't off the wall bills, either. Every one of them passed the House with bipartisan majorities and at least sixty-one votes. Eleven had seventy or more votes, five had 87+ votes, and three actually passed the House unanimously. Yet these bills were evidently too much for the special subcommittee, which decided not to let them see the light of day. Stay tuned on this issue."

It is high time to turn the tables on these cowards. We have to use the very same tactics that they use. Revolt in the streets, smash windows, light fires overturn cars, threaten violence everywhere if our demands are not met!.... chant "ANARCHY IS BETTER THAN THIS!!"

.........or petition the newly elected Republican Governor to kick some state senate ass........

Well, with the so called leaders in congress doing the same thing - violating their own rules - they are merely following suit. I sincerely and honestly think that they (in DC) are going to drop a big one on us if it looks like they are going to lose power in Nov.

I think most Americans will vote them out - when that looks likely and the liberals see the handwriting on the wall watch for some very radical (very) movements from the leftist currently in power.

So, this may seem simplitic (and a tad ignorant) but as it's the "special subcommittee in Senate Courts of Justice" can't the AG step and do something? I mean, other than harass state Universities about their policies on Gay Rights.

Not sure what he can do about the death star thing but I read that the gay rights issue has not been passed by the delegates and the universities cannot preempt/create state law as there is none.

I think he's trying to follow the rules. Maybe he has a hidden agenda, but whats good for the goose is good for the gander - i.e. senate not following the rules whereas he is. Just my $0.02.
