Snowpocalypse- Snow my God! - Snowmageddon or Flurries...

Post by BluemontGlock »

Whatever your calling it..,get your supplies, get home, hunker in, be safe...

& check in on your neighboor...

Carry On!!
Be particular, and be vigilant, as the enemy will only attack on two occasions:
When you're ready or when you're not ready.

Also never forget, that everyone who shows up, is not necessarily there to help.

Food? Check.
Generator? Check.
4WD? Check.
Ability to defend all of the above? Check.

I have just two questions,

Is that a real metal target sign?

...and where can I get one?

It reminds me of the time I nailed a target on a tree outside my driveway when I was havins some "trouble" with some neighbors.........The head was almost completely shot out, and not one miss outside the body...............

the "trouble" ended rather quickly..... and the 'neighbors' started waving to me more often?

Beer there, er, been there and stocked that. Got several gallons of gas for the snowblower and have already done 2 loops around the block last night. We had 8" at that point and it looks like we're over 18" at this point (guestimate) with snow still coming down. Waiting until after 7am before I venture out for another pass. I upgraded the small blower I had to a much, much larger unit and I can handle up to 21" by 27"wide not that I want to :coffee:

I just dropped TheWife off at work. The back roads are pretty nasty, but VDOT is doing a great job on the highways. My hat's off to them. :hi:

It looks like our snow switched to some drizzle/freezing rain for a little bit last night. The snow is *very* wet with a small layer of ice about halfway down. Since it's so wet, we only have about 6 or 7 inches due to the compaction. If this were a fluffy snow, we'd have 16 or better, I'd guess.

Yeah, well I've got about 6 or 7 inches times 4 in the driveway and deck. More in the yard due to drifting. Young's car is nothing but a white mound.

Just spent 3 hours shoveling my driveway! And this is after shoveling it twice last night! If we get another storm Tuesday night I'm moving to Florida.

I will be shoveling my driveway once -- tomorrow. Young and I got smart on this one. We parked at the end of the driveway so there wont be but about 3 feet to shovel -- until the plows come through. Last time I had to dig out the driveway about 40 feet to the street.

Weather is predicting another nor-easter next week. Same time, same storm, safe stuff coming our way. If this batch dont melt by then - and it wont - then we gonna be in deep caca.

I just got back from picking up TheWife from work. I pulled a guy out of the ditch a few hundred yards from my house. Our back road is so deep, it was dragging the undercarriage of the Navigator. THere was a tree down across Route 3 and a powerline right after that.

I almost got stuck in the driveway on the way back in, but managed to get the rig turned around and backed into the garage.

It's tough out there!

I'm surprised TheWife had to work. Her boss must be a slave driver or she's a first responder...
