U.S. Military Weapons Inscribed With Secret Bible Codes
This is interesting. . . .
U.S. Military Weapons Inscribed With Secret 'Jesus' Bible Codes
Pentagon Supplier for Rifle Sights Says It Has 'Always' Added New Testament References
"Coded references to New Testament Bible passages about Jesus Christ are inscribed on high-powered rifle sights provided to the United States military by a Michigan company, an ABC News investigation has found.
"The sights are used by U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and in the training of Iraqi and Afghan soldiers. The maker of the sights, Trijicon, has a $660 million multi-year contract to provide up to 800,000 sights to the Marine Corps, and additional contracts to provide sights to the U.S. Army.
"U.S. military rules specifically prohibit the proselytizing of any religion in Iraq or Afghanistan and were drawn up in order to prevent criticism that the U.S. was embarked on a religious 'Crusade' in its war against al Qaeda and Iraqi insurgents. . . ."

"They" want the references removed and cite separation of church/state/military. If this is true then why does DOD regulation require chaplains to recognize religions such as islam, druid, new age, etc.
No more catchy slogans for me...I am simply fed up...4...four...4...2+2...

...And the reason why is - If you are a believer, and this brings you comfort, Great! If you don't believe, then they are just letters and numbers... And your (the "They" in the article) point is?
If, as Weinstein says, we're emboldening the enemy, then so be it.( Maybe, just maybe, they'll show themselves in these sights!) Let us not forget they ARE the enemy. Period.

Fact; there are plenty of jewish boys using the same sights, and wearing an american uniform, and there are plenty of __________(insert any ethnic group here) working for the ACLU.Palladin wrote:...And the reason why is - If you are a believer, and this brings you comfort, Great! Re: U.S. Military Weapons Inscribed With Secret Bible Codes
I read the whole article and I am LMAO. I commend the company for saying flat out that is IS a Biblical reference. They could have easily inscribed those subtle "codes" inside the devices where they would never be seen but by a technician or someone who destroyed one but that had the testicular fortitude to come out and lay it out on the line. It makes me want to run out and buy their products myself!
I pray that it doesn't hurt the company and I don't buy the whole violation of church and state argument. It was a code number on a product, not a requirement specified by the government or advertised by the maker. Are we going to start specifying that any code used on anything by the government may not even accidentally be interpreted as having religious significance? Get real! You can EASILY interpet most anything to have SOME sort of religious reference if you try hard enough.

This article makes an excellent point. Are we going to change our currency because it has the words "In God We Trust"?. I haven't heard of any Muslims being offended by our money.

I'm not a very religious guy, but I say F-'em. The line has to be drawn somewhere. If not, the godless libs and the ACLU will keep pushing and pushing.
As far as the Fox article, who in the hell is this spokesman?
Capt. Geraldine Carey, a Marine Corps spokeswoman, said Tuesday in an e-mailed statement that "we are aware of the issue and are concerned with how this may be perceived." Carey said Marine Corps acquisition officials plan to meet with Trijicon to discuss future buys of the company's sights. The statement did not say what the nature of those discussions would be.
Sure as hell doesn't sound like the Corps I left behind. THAT Marine Corps would have responded with too f-ing bad, the scopes get the job done. OR if you have an issue with it, then you can grind it off the rifle you pick up to help do the job.
Separation of church and state is cool for some things, but the people carrying these weapons depend on their faith to get through the day and the next day after that. We need to remember that.

Stop bending over backwards to make freindly with these twits and get back to the vaulues that created this nation.

Re: U.S. Military Weapons Inscribed With Secret Bible Codes
It all goes back to you can please some of the people some of the time, but you cant please all of the people all of the time. IMOA I believe liberals like to play on cracks and use the animosity of the minatory, to try and take control of the majority. Free Masons from what I have studied, while the have a common bond of a Supreme Being, each individual has the right of belief on who that Supreme Being is. While we are a country that was founded upon the right of freedom of religion, I do not believe there was any thing in weighting that stated freedom from religion.
I often can’t help but notice, and by no means am I a Bible thumper or anything but it seems that common things like the Ten Commandments, even if you separate God from them, make human sense at basic starter rules for humanity. I can’t help but to notice as our society around us becomes more corrupt, the more we want to separate from a supreme being. Could this be because a supreme being could guide our conscience? Could it be that this makes us more accountable for our actions to this world? Some people may use an extreme being as an excuse for wrong, but often it is a greater number that use the lack of a supreme being as an excuse to lower morals, accountability, respect for others as well as downgrade someone’s worth that they feel within themselves.
On a side note,I as well agree with an above post if they don't like if F em....

I'm pretty sure she's a Public Affairs Officer speaking for the Commanding General of the Marine Corps Systems Command at Quantico. "Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is the Commandant of the Marine Corps’s agent for acquisition and sustainment of systems and equipment used to accomplish their warfighting mission. The command outfits United States Marines with literally everything they drive, shoot and wear."USMCGunner wrote:who in the hell is this spokesman? Capt. Geraldine Carey, a Marine Corps spokeswoman

No More Jesus Rifles
After ABC News Report, Trijicon Announces Plan to Remove Bible Codes from Gun Sights Provided to U.S. Military
http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/jesus-rif ... id=9618791
Trijicon, the gunsight maker that has imprinted Bible verse numbers on its scopes, has announced that it will no longer imprint the verses on the sides of scopes intended for the U.S. military, and will also provide clients with the kits to remove the Bible verse numbers from existing scopes.
An ABC News report earlier this week revealed that the Michigan-based company, which has a contract to provide up to 800,000 scopes to the U.S. military, prints references to New Testament chapters and verses in code next to the model numbers of its scopes. The scopes are used by the U.S. Marine Corps and Army in Iraq and Afghanistan, and by U.S. allies in those countries, and for the training of Afghan and Iraqi troops.
Earlier today, Gen. David Petraeus, who commands CentCom, which oversees U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, told a D.C. thinktank that the company's practice was "disturbing …and a serious concern for me" and field commanders. He said there had been considerable discussions within the Department of Defense about how to deal with Trijicon's practice.
