Read about this on another forum. Hopefully this doesn't spread but unfortunately it probably will in some places.

Bad thing is that if one refuses to give up arms and doesn't pay the fine they will keep you from doing all sorts of things. No car registration renewal, suspended DL, etc.

Have they not heard of the 10th Amendment? They don't have authority to regulate firearms.

I'm afraid there will be an onslaught of this type of action by predominantly liberal locations. I imagine Bloomberg is busy on the phone right now with mayors all over, coordinating a similar measure and assuring them resources to implement this.
This needs to go to the Supreme Court quickly for a ruling. they have turned down hearing a case like this in MD, allowing their ban to stand, but I don'tsee how they can continue to ignore this.
