Re: VCDL -- Board of Supervisors -- Prince William & Fairfax
I fired out a couple of messages this morning.
It has come to my attention that there are plans for a new rule or statute requiring long guns to be unloaded in vehicles on public roads. I strongly oppose this action. The Commonwealth of Virginia is a Right to Carry state, acknowledging its citizens right to openly carry legally owned and possessed firearms for personal defense. This includes long guns.
Per the most recent FBI statistics, all long guns combined, nationwide, account for less than 300 firearms related deaths each year. I cannot find any law enforcement agency publication that highlights criminal use of a long gun while in a vehicle. In fact, there are many federal law enforcement and private sector studies that show citizens legally defend themselves and others several million times a year with firearms. There are no tangible or perceived gains when it comes to public safety with the proposed rule or statutory change. Any such proposed change to rules or statutory code will only infringe on our US Constitution’s Second Amendment Rights and Virginia Constitutional Rights of the citizens of the Commonwealth, preventing them from adequately defending themselves.
For the sake of the preservation of Liberty and for citizens to provide for their own self-defense, I ask that you actively oppose any rule or statutory changes that would impose on the possession and open transportation of loaded long arms on public roads.

Email sent.
I am writing to oppose the requirement that long guns to be unloaded in vehicles.
The statistics do not support such a requirement, and we do NOT want to transform step by step Virginia into Maryland.
When I have immigrated from a former communist country in USA, I have chosen Virginia for the liberty loving people here. Please don't make me to change my mind.
All political power comes from the barrel of a gun. The communist party must command all the guns, that way, no guns can ever be used to command the party - Mao Tse Tung
