President Trump is wrong.

Post by mmckee1952 »

Trump is talking about doing away with due process in regards to people who shouldn’t have guns and removing them from their owners and then going to the courts to ascertain if it’s legal.
.
This is just wrong and against the 4th amendment, if the states would submit the medical facts of people who have been judged to not have the mental capabilities to possess a gun in the FBI’s NICS data base, which would prevent the majority of people who shouldn’t have a gun.
.
Right now the majority of states don’t send in this info and that’s the lynch pin to the failure in many cases of people who shouldn’t be able to purchase a gun.
.
Case in point the school shooter in Florida last week, numerous notifications were submitted to the local and federal law enforcement plus the local mental health department and in all those cases, nothing was done to forward those notifications to the federal level. The first thing that should have been done from the beginning is a legal judgment should have been exercised to ascertain this person’s mental health to own a gun and that judgment be entered into the NICS data base, problem solved.

Remember the immigration meeting where the press stayed? He said things that concerned his voters then, too, but soon after he showed that it was all just a ploy. I’ll keep calm and see what happens. He hasn’t let me down yet.

I knew from the get-go that Trump would say and do things, with which I would disagree and disapprove. It's inevitable; no two people are going to agree, 100% of the time.

I'm going to continue to observe the big picture, and consider how that picture would look, had the election gone a different way.

I note that our current President has the occasional tendency to have an idea pop into mind, and exit directly through his mouth and into a live mic. Fortunately, he seems to have advisors that will, sometimes, call him out on bad ideas.

Also, expressing a willingness to consider a position, is not the same thing as endorsing that position.

I'm with the Captain, above. Remain calm. But, also, remain vigilant.
