Post by 300Six »

hello, im new here so if this is in the wrong section im sorry,

here the questions.

just got 2 shotguns for christmas,

1st question
i live on 3 acres close to the road and neighbors around. is it legal to shoot on my land. im not talking about shooting 100 rounds a day, im just saying maybe 10 or so every week or so if that.

2nd question.
is it legal to have my shotgun unplugged if im not hunting with it. just shooting practice?

i have tryed to look it up. but come of empty or no clear answers.

I would imagine this is your issue...? http://www.roanoke.com/news/local/botet ... 39ec5.html

I'm no lawyer but, I would assume.... the issue isn't how many rounds but, the "noise". I live in Rockbridge County, & there are similar noise ordinance laws. I don't know anybody or have heard of anybody ever being cited for such. I hear gun shots all the time. I have other "noise" issues from time to time (neighbors bear dogs), & I live on 30 acres..! Never so much that warranted calling anyone about it or filing a complaint. The real issue, as usual.... is people. Some people just aren't very considerate of others, & some can't mind their own business. I don't expect those problems to ever go away.....

Again no lawyer but, couldn't imagine an unplugged shotgun being a problem on private property.
