Primer storage
Primer storage
Are there any VA (or Federal) laws that apply to the quantity of primers that can be stored in(or at) a residence?
Now is the time for all good men to get off their rusty dustys...

Howdy, Glen,
Sorry I don't know the answer to your question, but if you find you have an unlawfully large quantity I would consider it a privilege to store some small pistol primers for you, as well as any powder, bullets, and brass in excess of government regulations. I also promise to periodically test the quality of the components you entrust to my care.
Regards,
George

Re: Primer storage
I remember seeing the No. 10K somewhere, maybe the Lyman manual, but I haven't found any solid references online. Other states, yes, but not for VA. Given the nature of a greenhorn with an auto, that's not a very large number at all considering difficulties of acquiring said items.

The way I see it what's in my house is my buisness, not big brothers.

Here's a link from SAAMI that gives a little info. Scroll down to page 6 for recommendations from the NFPA. Note that Chapter 11 originates in NFPA Code section 495. AFAIK (but IANAL) I cannot find nor am I aware of any laws dictating this issue unless you are transporting them or a commercial operation.

Btw, SAAMI does provide good info on this especially if you got a bunch of stuff and obviously want to observe safe handling and storage.
