Suggested Subject: Please allow visitors with concealed handgun permits to carry!

I urge you to remove the current prohibition on self-defense for concealed handgun permit holders.

Having lockboxes is simply not good enough - it disarms people who have had a background check, training, and statistically don't commit crimes, while requiring them, and possibly untrained staff, to handle a gun unnecessarily in order to put it in a lockbox or leave in a vehicle unattended.

And while it is great that you have security guards, Virginia Tech had an entire trained police force and still couldn't save 32 people from being murdered. Security simply can't be everywhere at all times.

People with permits don't want to leave their guns unattended. And they want to be able to protect themselves in an emergency. George Washington would most certainly agree with this.

Please drop this unreasonable policy, so permit holders can enjoy the important national treasure that is in your charge!
