Article speculated this may have been caused by a bad reload.

I think this is a really old story from back in 2008. http://www.adjunct.diodon349.com/attack ... low_up.htm

That article mentioned several failures with minor lacerations and bruising, not amputation.

Oops, yeah seems like two of my sentences must have been deleted when trying to copy and paste the article link. Yeah I know that it talked about the damage done to the hand. If you look up failures of glocks, or just that of guns in general, you will find the same picture of the glock and that hands/faces don't receive that much damage. This does though make a good instance for people to be vigilant when reloading or accepting reloads from someone else.

I'm curious what part of a bad reload can cause this. I'm thinking more of a squib load, but my experience is very limited.
jdonovan, any idea?

I noticed similarities in the pictures at a glance but attributed that to common construction/common failure points. It could have been a stock picture.
Your article did give more reasons for those failures than just improper reloading...good reminders.

Well I know it's a "plastic gun" as some here call it but I thing of it was a squib more damage would be on the slide instead at the grip. As other links have said this picture looks like a round went off on the magazine and not in the chamber.
