Huh... Gunbroker is weird.

Post by Reverenddel »

So I have been using the same Email for over 25 years... but because it's a "Yahoo" address... Gunbroker says "We're gonna charge you a dollar because you use an anonymous email."

Huh... that's weird considering most of the people in my world keep separate emails for different things. One for business, one for bills, one for banking, etc...

I work in fraud, I get it, but the "Charging a buck"? That's odd. Maybe makes a nice profit for them. Dunno.

I use a Gmail address for a few things; I've experienced oddities, there, too. I just assumed that Gmail was popular with spamming entities, so Gmail accounts would be automatic red flags.

No one has ever charged me actual money, though. I do believe that an arbitrary charge like that would provoke me to give a one finger education salute, then do business elsewhere. That's just silly.

I love how this phone adds random words to my sentences, and generally presumes to know what I want to say, better than I do.

The word "education" had absolutely no place in my last post.

Weird I'm never heard of a company doing that. What do they do with that extra buck?

Add it to their bottom line, just like the counties that charge for the convenience of using their on-line payment system. They actually get their money faster with less hassle, but the extra charge nets them even more profit. As for the "anonymous" email for some sites specifying Gmail, Yahoo, Ect, I did run into that on both Gun Broker and Silencer Talk. Issue their is I personally don't use my ISP's mail service due to spam, and I can't use my work address, so I simply troll that site. Have found some great posts there in the building forms, along with help filing the proper forms, so didn't really need to register, as I found what I needed, and someone else already went through the work of proving it did it's job efficiently.
