Looked at the calendar... realized tomorrow is 31 years since the Challenger explosion (01/28/86). Then I realized that next Wednesday is 14 years since Columbia (02/01/03)! How quickly time passes!

I will never forget. My father (Carl Robert Wittmeier) died the following day of pancreatic cancer. Wife and I had just moved to Carrollton, Tx and he wanted so badly to come see our new home. My mother asked me not to mention the shuttle crash as he worried so much about others.
