Re: Army Chooses Sig
Sounds like good news. I think the Sig Sauer P320 is a pretty awesome pistol from what I have seen, read and it feels great in the hand.
They did not discuss what caliber they will pursue but I'd like to see the 9MM continue.

9mm would be a smart choice, for sure.
I love my SIG weapons. They are insanely reliable and wear very well. I have well over 20,000 rounds down the pipe of my 516 Patrol and it still shoots 1.5 MOA groups with cheap ammo.
I think the Army made a great choice.

I think the only reason the Glock didn't win was the lack of modular systems based on the frame.
I'm happy with SIG winning. Starting to like SIG way more since they did a spectacular job on my gun...

I'm happy with the choice. Means more parts for my gun when SHTF.

Safety Mechanism is also another big thing. Every single Rifle, Pistol and Machine gun in the Army Inventory has some sort of Safety on it. Everybody was swearing up and down how Glock was going to win, my argument was Glocks do not have safeties and the Army will never swing for something like that, I feel the better Pistol won.Reverenddel wrote:I think the only reason the Glock didn't win was the lack of modular systems based on the frame.

Anyone has a P320? I'd like to try it, before buying one.

I don't own one, but I have fired one that a friend owns. Its next on my list of pistols to buy. I just want to get a good med to long range rifle up and running first.kelu wrote:Anyone has a P320? I'd like to try it, before buying one.

You know a lot of used Beretta's are going to hit the market as they are replaced.

perhaps the army can find a gun buy back and get $100 each for them.Swampman wrote:You know a lot of used Beretta's are going to hit the market as they are replaced.

Be careful when you read some of the comments in the article. If you stand too close you'll get spittle or stupid (or both) all over you...
My grandfather said, "Always use your head!".
I told him, "I want to pound nails!"
He said, "Best use a hammer instead."
