Boy am I in trouble …..

It seems that lately my life has been getting more complicated, and I want to thank those of you who are brave enough to still associate with me regardless of what I have become.

The following is a recap of my current identity:

I was born white, which makes me a racist.

I am a fiscal and moral conservative, which makes me a fascist.

I am heterosexual, which makes me a homophobe.

I am non-union, which makes me a traitor to the working class and an ally of big business.

I am a Christian, which makes me an infidel.

I am older than 60 which makes me a useless old person.

I think and I reason; therefore I doubt much that the main stream media tells me, which makes me a reactionary.

I am proud of my heritage and our inclusive American culture, which makes me a xenophobe.

I value my safety and that of my family; therefore I appreciate the police and the legal system, which makes me a right-wing extremist.

I believe in hard work, fair play, and fair compensation according to each individual's merits, which makes me anti-social.

I, and my friends, acquired a good education without student loans and no debt at graduation, which makes me some kind of odd underachiever.

I believe in the defense and protection of the homeland by all citizens, which makes me a militarist.

Please help me come to terms with this, because I‘m not sure who I am anymore!

Lol, I have a little more than a year before I hit 60; more like a couple of decades. But, damn, I feel like I was born a few decades too late. I seriously don't feel like I belong in the modern world. Nothing makes sense, everything is overly complicated, everyone is ridiculously thin skinned, and no one seems inclined to consider anyone else.

Funny thing; I have two very close friends. They are both in my general age group, and I've known them both since childhood. Each of us are married. Independently of each other, all of our wives have concluded that they married grumpy old men. Probably not far from true. We all have daily "get of my lawn" moments.

Not 60 yet but not far away. In a very similar boat except for one thing. I know I am a man or at least that is what my wife says and I know which bathroom to use. Those youngsters who are confused better seek professional help in the form of a doctor (psychiatric or a surgeon).

I'll be 59 in a few days. A couple of decades ago, I got to where SHMIV is now - IDGAF what anyone thinks of me. I'm not here to meet anyone else's expectations. Popeye said, "I yam what I yam, and that's all that I yam."

I did walk into the women's restroom at a gas station in Marshall once. It was empty and it didn't occur to me until somewhere in mid-stream that there were no urinals! A woman walked in while I was finishing up and just looked at me with the strangest expression. I tried to ignore her , but it was no use. I looked at her and grinned and said, "Can't read!" and walked out.
