Mentally, she's been gone a while; she had dementia. But, now it's official, I suppose.
My Grandmother's biggest pet peeve was the feminist movement, which is interesting, considering her personal sense of independence. She was quick to join the work force, at the conclusion of the 2nd World War, though she did put her career on hold to raise her children. She placed a high value on education, giving cash rewards to grandchildren and great grandchildren, for good grades. Herself, she continued her own education with courses at the community college, including online classes. She did this long after she retired, and well into her 80's. Many times, she told me, "You are never too old to stop learning."
She was greatly convinced that the Feminist Movement was created by lazy men.
I will miss her, but I am thrilled that the cutest little old couple that you ever did see have been reunited. They were married for 75 years.
