Judge Kozinski on Hitler, Stalin, 2nd Amendment

I thought this was pretty good. Figured I'd share.

Judge Kozinski’s dissent in Silveira v. Lockyer:

All too many of the other great tragedies of history — Stalin’s atrocities, the killing fields of Cambodia, the Holocaust, to name but a few — were perpetrated by armed troops against unarmed populations. Many could well have been avoided or mitigated, had the perpetrators known their intended victims were equipped with a rifle and twenty bullets apiece, as the Militia Act required here. (See Kleinfeld Dissent at 578-579.) If a few hundred Jewish fighters in the Warsaw Ghetto could hold off the Wehrmacht for almost a month with only a handful of weapons, six million Jews armed with rifles could not so easily have been herded into cattle cars.

My excellent colleagues have forgotten these bitter lessons of history. The prospect of tyranny may not grab the headlines the way vivid stories of gun crime routinely do. But few saw the Third Reich coming until it was too late. The Second Amendment is a doomsday provision, one designed for those exceptionally rare circumstances where all other rights have failed — where the government refuses to stand for reelection and silences those who protest; where courts have lost the courage to oppose, or can find no one to enforce their decrees. However improbable these contingencies may seem today, facing them unprepared is a mistake a free people get to make only once.

'Cause the Federal, and State, and Local Governments pay attention to the Constitution? Or, the Supreme Court doesn't hedge it's interprtation?

And if they don't tow the line, then we appeal to the U.N.? If you have read this far, stop laughing.

@H... I am in the same boat. One of my Lib friends actually said if the government comes for me or my guns, there is nothing I can do about it because they have tanks, drones and rockets. I told him the HE was the very reason why I feel like I need a rifle to defend my freedom. There are plenty of shot callers in the government that think exactly like him.

@Bill... That's some funny stuff. All jokes aside, the UN can kiss my back side.

@Jay... I need to read Mark Levin's book "Men In Black". From what I hear, it discusses that subject in great length.

Agreed... America is staged to become the new Islamic State. So many people will be killed and tortured that I can't begin to calculate. I hope the brave 3% can do what needs to be done when the time comes.

I was telling my wife two nights ago that we are headed for Sharia Law. She didn't believe me. We are headed down a slippery slope and I feel like I'm the only one alive in this world. It's like everyone else is blinded by the newest fashion or tv show.

Interestingly, FOX 5 news is doing stories on the House sit-in for gun control by Democrats and as well as a holocaust survivor's memories of the loss of her parents...and they don't make the connection between the two.
