This...sucks... badly...

Post by Reverenddel »

At the top of the list is an effort to expand background checks on gun sales by forcing more sellers to register as federally licensed gun dealers. The changes would be aimed at some unregistered sellers who skirt the background check laws by selling at gun shows, online or informal settings. Other moves being considered include improving reporting of lost and stolen weapons and beefing up inspections of licensed dealers, according to a person familiar with the plans.

The package includes measures this White House has long considered but not completed, mindful of the legal fight sure to follow as well as the potential for political backlash for some fellow Democrats.

At the same time, Obama took nearly two dozen executive actions to tighten gun laws, but left a major expansion of background checks out of the mix.

Obama ordered his staff to redouble the effort to look for ways to work around Congress.
Tyrant. No rhyme, reason, or process behind it all. He does what he pleases on his own accord.

Who needs multiple branches of Government when you have the almighty pen in hand?

And to make things worse, the Bundy drama out in Oregon is giving the President a perfectly timed backdrop for his gun control agenda. Honestly, I don't think this could have been timed any worse, or better if you're a gun grabber.

I'll be interested to see which States disregard his pen. They have pens too.

Sheriffs run the show until tank treads roll. Reminds me that I need to befriend my county's latest.

It hinges on whether the person sold by advertisement. What is advertisement? I would be willing to bet the house that posting a "for sale" on say VGOF could be construed as an ad.

This moves the benefit of ambiguity from the citizens to the draconian government.

It won't hold up.
