Obamacare penalty no one is talking about

Post by Swampman »

An IRS penalty that kicked in on July 1 will fine business owners for reimbursing employees on healthcare costs.
“There’s no real justification for penalizing small businesses that do what the law’s strongest supporters claim to want, which is to help employees obtain coverage or pay medical bills,” Kuhlman said in an NFIB press release. “This is a rigid and thoughtless bureaucratic rule that undermines the purpose of the law, and it ought to be repealed immediately.”

It has now become near impossible to operate a small business in America. If you want to you have to do it under the watchful, prying eyes of the government. No more freedom to take care of your employees so you can retain the good ones. Besides, it won't be long before they can flip burgers for $15/hour. :coffee:

Many of my customers ask me when I'm going to get additional techs and I keep telling them the same thing - never.

Businesses should naturally want to grow and expand so they can help more customers, make more money, and feed more families through employment. Sadly we have created an environment that discourages that natural behavior. Small businesses are always the first to hire when coming out of recession, except for this time. No wonder we have the lowest labor force participation rate in decades, more businesses dying than being started in a year, and a nation of part-time batista and bar tenders.

The laws created over the last 10-15 years do nothing but kill small business and make it impossible for a true small Mom and Pop company to start, never mind succeed.

I'm sure. Just because they are in the medical field, they are still a small/independent business.

Yeah, I just find that to be ironic.

Small business is the domain of the middle class moving up! Can't have that! The collectivist dream is the destruction of the middle class. Can't have anything other than the oligarchs and serfs can we?
My grandfather said, "Always use your head!".
I told him, "I want to pound nails!"
He said, "Best use a hammer instead."
