Finally got two friends to my range !

Today I spent the afternoon with my friends Tim and Jen at my range. Until today neither had ever shot a firearm of any kind.Both were pretty nervous at first, but the nerves soon passed .We spent a half hour talking about several pistols and handled each to become familiar with them. They first shot my Sig 1911 .22 . Jen really liked The Sig , said it was easy to load and had no recoil . Then we shot my Rock Island TCM with the 9 mm barrel. They both liked it and said it was very comfortable to shoot. We then shot one of my 10/22's and Carols Marlin 60 . Tim also shot an AR which brought a big smile on his face. Jen shot the AR a few times and shot my Henry .357 about forty rds. Both said they were interested in purchasing a semi auto pistol and want to attend a safety class in the near future. Now they seem to be comfortable and have the desire to learn more about the sport of shooting. I think once they complete a few classes they will spend lots of time at the range.

That's awesome! Glade to hear we have some new enthusiasts to welcome to the community. Its always great to read about positive experiences with folks.

Theyt are very lucky to have you as a friend too. That was a great method and weapons selection. If seen some people put a 12ga in the hands of someone who never shot before and the kick, fierce sound and kick made them never want to shoot again.

Well, Jen and Tim jumped in with both feet ! I talked to Tim earlier today. He told me they spent most of yesterday looking at and talking about Firearms! I have known them for over 55 years and know both very well. They did exactly what I thought they would......They decided on a Kimber "Pro Carry 2 " SS 9mm and a Kimber "Solo" 9mm .Also bought 2K rds. Of ammo , holsters and a Safe that will be delivered this week. Tim wants to shoot my .45 cap 1911 says Kimber makes one exactly like his 9mm . We are going to try to shoot one afternoon this week. They are going on Vacation next week and will be gone for two weeks. I know that they are going to be thinking about their new hobby the whole time they are gone.
