P320 and P238 shooting tonight

Post by Mindflayer »

First, holster work with the P320 at 10 yards. Gotta tighten up those groups, and that one low flyer bugs me. It was holster work, but still...

Now the new one for pocket carry when I don't feel like carrying the Ruger LCR - the new Sig P238 that I bought cheap!! at PSA.

Fifteen (that's 15, Paladin) yards with the P238 with a mix of LeHigh's crazy Penetrator ammo, Hornady American Gunner XTP, and Geco FMJ:

Swapped out the grips for some Hogue G10 grips.

Nice groups. I've seen guys not hit paper on a ten yard draw. You're doing just fine.

I don't see a flier, per se. Are you talking about the one above the hand or the one square between the eyes? LOL

Those Hogue grips dress it up really well!

Now you need to get a shot timer to complement the measurement of your gun skills. Accurate is good - fast and accurate is better.

Chasbo00, Silver Eagle allows you to set rotation of the targets. Pretty cool.

That is a good feature. Yet, a shot timer provides far more options for measuring shooting speed. For example, lets say you are shooting a FAST drill (from 7 yards, pistol loaded with 2 rounds; draw fire 2 rounds at a 3x5 card, perform slidelock reload, fire 4 rounds at an 8-inch circle). The shot timer is will not only give you total drill time, but also your draw time, reload time, and split times between shots for both the precision target (3x5 card) and the 8-inch circle. That's a lot of info from just a six-round drill.

More info on the FAST drill: http://pistol-training.com/drills/the-fast
