Glock 30 versus 30S
Glock 30 versus 30S
I know this is a long shot but have any of you shot both? I am in the market for a .45 CC pistol and was wondering if the slimmer slide on the 30S is really worth it. With the regular 30 there are many different caliber choices with barrel and mag swaps, not so with the 30S. Any input from those who have carried both?

Re: Glock 30 versus 30S
I'll give you some feedback Vince. I have a 30S and carry it as my primary with a 9 round mag +1 with just a t-shirt, or 10+1 with a button up over it. The pistol is accurate, carries well for me, but is a little snappy for me as the round count climbs above 100 at the range. The 30 is slightly wider, and is noticeable to you if carried, but can conceal as well depending on your build and method of carry. However, not by much. It is more of a "brick" then the 30S. It also is not as snappy. As you pointed out, you aren't going to convert an S to 10mm!
So, if the primary reason for the purchase is as a CCW, I would say 30S, and if the goal is more of a range toy, with the ability to change barrels, 30. I don't mess with barrel swaps, that is an excuse for another pistol
So I also have a 19 that drops right into the same holster.

Re: Glock 30 versus 30S
Good info here. I bought a 30s when it first came out. I shot it a bunch and did not like shooting it. So if you shoot it alot as i like to with what i carry it is very snappy. The 30 was too thick for a carry for me. I didn't need a safe queen that was ment to be carried so i sold it.Jollyrogers66 wrote:I'll give you some feedback Vince.
