Another muzzleloader buck
Another muzzleloader buck
I got this one this afternoon. Small 4 point getting turned into burger and cube steak. My granddaughter Emma is spending the night so she had to get into the pic.

Henry - what do you do with your meat? Do you mostly cut it up for venison steaks, or do you grind any of it? How about jerky?

Burger, sausage, cube steak and the backstraps are made into butterfly steaks. One more and the freezer will be full, that alomost happened saturday morning but due to poor buller performance ( sure wasn't my shooting abilityallingeneral wrote:Henry - what do you do with your meat? Re: Another muzzleloader buck
Do you mix any other types of meat in when you grind it? I've heard of people who add a bit of pork fat, etc... What's your recipe?

Re: Another muzzleloader buck
My recipe is just take it to the local butcher unless it's a little deer then I do it myself and save $65.00. But to answer your question, beef fat get's mixed in when making burger and when making sausage pork fat is mixed in. I picked up the one in the pic today and ended up with about 40 packages of assorted cuts of meat.
