NEW Ruger SP101 in .327 Federal Magnum?

Post by Mindflayer »

Saw a new 4.2" SP101 mentioned in the Ruger Revolver group on Facebook, and then saw it again on the Ruger Forums. I would usually lean toward (another) .357 Magnum, but there's something about the .327 that appeals.

Anyone else heard anything?

I fell in love several years back when I first held one at one of the NRA annual meetings. It only got better after I purchased one and shot it. I now have 2 one for me and one for the wife. The only issue is finding ammo.

Thanks for info, I don't get up that way much but may have to make a special trip up to get some.

Something good abouut an odd round... whenever there is an ammo scare, you'll still be able to find it. I still only see small amounts of 22LR. Nuts.

A shooting buddy of mine has a .327 and shoots it a lot. I thought it was just like my SP .357 until he showed it to me. My first thought was finding Ammo . He says he finds plenty at Bob's and sometimes at Dick's . It is a nice shooting Gun !

I was looking at the .327 version at the Virginia Beach gun show a few years just before I bought my .357 magnum version.

Man, I really should stick to my "Limit calibers to common ones" plan - critical for the ZA. Some folks have gotten their 4.2" Ruger SP101s in .327 Federal Magnum. Their reviews are making me consider trying the odd round.

It is notable that when all my friends were not able to get .22LR, I was able to get .17 HMR. Maybe there is something to be said for uncommon calibers....

I got the email from GoG that the .327 was in stock. By the time I looked - 6 minutes later - all were gone. Guess that is a sign to buy the .357 Magnum!
