Okay great, thanks! I have used my VA registration card before, but i was just curious if a CCP was acceptable too since i have that on me ALL the time, and not always my voter card. You never know when you'll come across a good deal!
If I'm buying or transferring something that requires 3 forms of ID, like an AK with a 30 round mag, I only need to show my VA D/L and my voter card for the background check. Of course, my VA CHP is always with me too.
I was in the local gun shop and a county sheriff came in to pick up a gun. The guy had no second form of ID. He was driving the cop car so that registration wouldn't work. He had nothing in his wallet with address on it. Not even a check or paystub. The guys were sympathetic, but he had to go home empty handed that day.
I would have thought that an officer would keep 2 forms of ID on him, at least at work. Aside from his drivers license, I would have thought that he might have his DCJS license on him.
Or do LEO in VA not carry a DCJS license?

It has always been my understanding that LEO's don't carry any ID, especially something which has a home address on it. The reason is that if someone steals their wallet or it is lost in a fight then that person (if they are a criminal) will now have that Officers home address and could retaliate against the Officer or their family.
