According to what I've been hearing on Fox News, via satellite radio, a grand jury has decided not to indict Officer Darren Wilson. In response, an angry mob has begun protesting violently. A police car and beauty supply shop has been set ablaze. Shots have been fired. A McDonald's and a liquor store have been looted. A Fox News team has been attacked, resulting in a destroyed camera.
So, let me see if I understand what's happening. Michael Brown- a violent, thieving, thug- was shot and killed by a police officer (after robbing a store and attacking the officer who shot him), so, in remembrance and honor of him, people are behaving like violent, thieving, thugs. Sound about right?
Anybody else catch the Emperor's little speech? It sounded very forced and insincere, to me. Not that I'm surprised.

It took all of 2 minutes for shots to be fired in the air after the announcement. That 2 minute delay was only because the protesters who cared so much about this issue took no time to understand the process and what "no true bill" means. As the translation spread, so did the protesters.
Looks like his death is being honored, but in the spirit of how he actually lived (violent criminal), not the way his parents wish to portray him (jovial baby-boy, murdered for jaywalking).
If only Michael Brown's sperm and egg donors had put a fraction of this effort into raising him...
[And as the violence unfolds, I keep asking myself, "who benefits?" I'm watching for the inevitable Federal overreach and assertion of LE power.]
I hear what you are saying and agree 100%....What I don't get is 93% of Blacks being killed is at the hands of other Blacks. Only FOX NEWS reports this. All these so called "Protesters" want is an excuse to Riot and Lute !
Advice for Michael Brown: Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Advice for Michael Brown's mother: He turned out to be exactly what you raised him to be. Aren't you proud?
Advice for the police: Your job is to protect the rights, including the property rights, of citizens. Allowing stores to be looted, buildings to be burned, and your own cars to be destroyed is a dereliction of duty.
Advice for Obama: I heard what you meant in your speech, all the code phrases of support for the racist criminals who were rioting right next to you on-screen. For race-baiting encouragement of the arsonists and looters, we'll add another count to the bill for your impeachment.
Advice for the race-baiting "protest organizers" and their mindless followers: Your actions have justified every negative stereotype that we, the civil, non-racist majority have consistently rejected, and are forcing us to consider whether there is a racial basis, in addition to the cultural basis, for your brutish behavior. In sum, you have proven that one doesn't have to be sub-human to act like a sub-human. You have set back the civil rights movement decades by showing the tribalist, violent nature of the subculture of urban blacks in America to day. You all have more in common with the machete-wielding savages in Rwanda than you do with Martin Luther King.

You have to ask who benifits from the destruction of thier own community? I mean really the protesters are burning and looting business in thier own community where they have jobs. It just dosent make since to me at all.

The protesters don't benefit [beyond all the free Huggies they can carry] and the property owners sure don't [I'm sure all the insurance claims will be completely honest]. That makes those parties "tools" and "props", respectively. No doubt that some strings are being pulled from afar, but just how far?
This reminds me of L.A. after the Rodney King cops were found not guilty. Not to worry though, da' beeg ole' federal Gub'mint gonna come on in... and lob civil rights charges till something sticks.
Bluntly, I love the geography, the landscapes, weather, resources, history, innovation, flora, and fauna of this country.... but I cannot stand the population. Maybe about 10%... the rest? Vanish tomorrow, wouldn't think a thing about it.
Who benefits from this mayhem? No one, of course. I've said, frequently, that the left really doesn't think past their immediate desires and passions. And, all these rioters are left wingers; I'd bet my next months pay on that.
I can't blame the Ferguson PD too much. When Officer Wilson was put before the grand jury, it seems that he was really the face of the PD. My guess is that they would have been screwed, no matter what. Why weren't more business owners there to protect their investments?
It's telling that the liquor store that got looted had artwork from Michael Brown displayed in the window. This was about raising hell, for the hell of it.
The biggest blunder on the part of the PD, was the decision to treat the protests like a sporting event. They should have known better.

I might worry about setting a precedent that the Obamunist could cite when HE does the same thing to us "radical gun-and-bible-clinging-tea-party-terrorist types.

Gun-crazy? Me? I'd say the gun-crazy ones are the ones that don’t HAVE one.
And Eric Holder says the DOJ, which is carrying on it's own investigation of Wilson and the Ferguson PD, says it's likely that DOJ will arrive at a different conclusion than the Grand Jury did.
So much for respecting the rule of law. It is difficult to have anything but hateful words and thoughts for these people, so I need to stop now.
Progressives/Liberals - Promoting tyranny and a defenseless people since 1913.
When I was just a boy, there were places in this country where people accused of certain crimes had been snatched up by a mob and hanged just because of the color of their skin; without regard for due process or even human dignity. Right-thinking folks everywhere, whether they were black or white, southern or not, liberal or conservative, religious or atheist, deplored this. The full force of the federal government was brought to bear to end it, and end it they did. We in the south still endure the stigma of those events; and “progressives” and “liberals”, as well as the federal government still rub our noses in that now distant past and use it as an excuse to subject us to extra scrutiny and regulation in the form of the Voting Rights Act. Truly, it seems to me that there are those in the “progressive” camp who will never let the south live that down; despite the fact that I truly believe that folks in the south (both black and white) have more regard and consideration for each other and are more racially tolerant than a lot of those in the north.
Folks, what those “protesters” demanding the cop be prosecuted are doing right now in Ferguson, MO isn’t a cockeyed bit different from those ugly, deplorable lynchings in the deep south of the 1950s. Biggest difference I see is (1) the skin color of the people with the rope, and (2) The federal government in the persons of the President and Attorney General of the US is encouraging the lynch mob in this case. So where is the opprobrium from the liberal camp, I ask?

I knew they would riot...I was just hoping the powers that be would have had a better response to it.

I was watching it live last night and my first thought was how stupid can you be to release your findings at ~2100hrs and give the public hours of notice ahead of time.

On the contrary, criminal types who would otherwise be doing the same thing benefit from the anonymity of the crowd. Also criminal and anarchist types generally benefit from the breakdown of law and order. Also anyone whose deck of "grievance" cards is getting a little worn and needs a new one...

I'm more inclined to think there is a core for which mayhem is a deliberate effort. The rest are mainly opportunists reveling in the anonymity of the crowd. As for them being left-wingers... most of them probably could not articulate what "left-wing" means. Since they vote that way I am not sure it really makes much difference.

That was never in doubt.

Risk your investment... or risk your life? Is "stuff" worth it? I know (I like to think ) which one my wife and kids would prefer to have. While I agree in principle I realize, like most people who carry, sometimes the best way to "cowboy up" is to beat your ego senseless and head for the door.
My grandfather said, "Always use your head!".
I told him, "I want to pound nails!"
He said, "Best use a hammer instead."
My "stuff" is insured. Even if it wasn't my kids need a mommy and daddy more than they need "stuff."
So if I had time to leave the area I would. That said I understand those who stood on their roofs during the LA riots and said "oh no you don't".

I have to make an observation that may be viewed as a correction. There is real serious money being made. Likely in the billions. People who gain from the rioting are...
1.) The Democrat (D) political Party as a whole. They will say "See, those damn Tea Party radicals on the right are racist. That's why they acquitted the white guy."
This accomplishes three things.
One, helps build their base (aka revenue) for the next election cycle.
Two, no attention is being given to the 2 trillion dollars in tax liability that has been passed onto the citizens of America thanks to the 11 million illegals that have just been handed the Silver Spoon (again, to build the voter base... aka revenue).
Three, it distracts Black American citizens from the fact that the POTUS and his administration have done nothing but make their living situation and outlook for the future worse with their politics. This allows the Left to keep the Black American voter base (aka revenue).
2.) The liberal media is making an absolute literal fortune. They feed into the chaos and want madness, anarchy, and human drama. The media causes the frenzy and rioting with hype, lies, instigating and aggravates the low information people on the streets and broadcast it live. Other people will be glued to the TV. Ratings will be at an all-time high and the media agencies will charge top dollar for advertising.
