My thoughts? Tannerite as used in removing treefall that a chainsaw JUST WON'T CUT!

Caulk that mess on a fair sized tree... move back a ways... Hit with a .22LR... WHOMP! Less tree!

Seems to me we tried to detonate Tannerite with a .22LR once and it didn't have enough energy. Needed more lead going faster.

They advertise a .22 sensitive tannerite. Got some, but haven't tried it yet.

I thought the reason tannerite was not able to pop with a 22 LR or handgun round is to stop people from being 3 yards away from an exploding target and hurting or killing themselves.

Is it my imagination or is that one hog only got three legs?

By the way, a European (Swede) that I regularly IRC with told me it's extremely bad news to kill the lead sow of a sounder of feral hogs. Without leadership the others go on a rampage as several towns in Europe have discovered.

Along the same lines, have you seen the rodent control systems that use gas and oxygen explosions?

Funny you should mention that. When I posted the links to the gas explosion gopher killers I was reminded of a low environmental impact method of destroying fire ant colonies that someone came up with well over 15 years ago.

Basically he took a Stanley Steemer truck (the kind used to produce steam for a carpet cleaning service) and hooked it up to a 12' steam lance.
By working the lance down into the ground in several places in and around the fire ant nest most, if not all, of the colony could be cooked without doing any costly damage to the property.

A quick Google search shows that there are many who say that just using boiling hot water, carefully, has reasonably good results.
