Im located in King George and im looking for two flags, a Confederate flag and a Gadsden flag, i would prefer both to be about 3'x5', of course i know i can order online as with anything these days but i was wondering if anyone knew where i could find these local. im working on a project and dont really want to wait for / pay for shipping so if anyone knows somewhere local i could get these flags that would be a big help, Thanks !

Call up Bald Eagle flag store in Fredericksburg. They are only open 10-1 today (Saturday).

I called bald eagle flags, no one answered. Then a guy called me back and said that they are closed on the weekends completely however gave me a price while i was on the phone, $45 for one flag... I understand they are locally made and i would assume good quality but that just seemed a little much. The guy seemed a little upset when i politely said that i wasn't prepared to spend that much but thanked him for his time anyway. Anywho I guess ill just go the amazon route, and i will not be making a trip to Lexington.. That whole thing is a thread all of its own.

I can't speak to the quality of the flags, but last I was there, they had Gadsden flags, as well as the well known Confederate battle flag. They also stock a variety of other flags.

There is a military surplus store in Newport News that stocks flags, but I don't recall the name. The service was crappy, anyway.

This thread kicks off an idea I've been thinking about for a long time. We are moving to the Valley, not far from Harrisonburg, in a month or so. Once we get settled I may start up a flag store. It would stock a wide range of historical, US, state and other flags (I expect many would be special order until there is capital for sufficient inventory), poles, and related items. The key: everything will be American made. Nothing from foreign manufacturers, ESPECIALLY NOT CHINA!

As to the price of that flag,I saw a US-made Annin Gadsden 3x5 flag for $38.50 including shipping on Amazon. You have to consider that there is a wide range of quality in flags; material type, material weight, quality of stitching/reinforcement on the halyard side and on the fly sides and fly end (the best are folded over and seamed to prevent fraying), whether it is printed or embroidered, quality of the grommets, etc. Annin are US-made, known for good quality and the flag I refer to is very good - I have one. Its list price is $44.95. Most of the cheap flags you will find are Chinese, and cheaply made. So just as with buying guns from a local shop vs. CDNN, PSA or Buds, it will cost more but you can pick it up today and the local business has the costs involved in stocking it for your convenience and personal service.

Quality American made flags are always a little pricey but , they are worth the money. Nothing ticks me off more than a U.S. Flag with a made in China label. I like to make flags out of used pallets . I am currently working on a Gadsden Flag for a friend of mine. Here's a few of my other flags !

The co-op in Culpeper was trying to figure out how to get rid of pallets, a couple of years ago.
They still may of a mind to give them away.
