New to Virginia

Post by lbdacook »

Greetings Vaguns,

Hello all, I am also a new Va resident. I moved to the Norfolk area from wonderful state of Illinois, I was active with Illinois State Rifle Association & NRA and it's fight to get concealed carry in IL. Yes it will be great to move into a state that is a little more friendly to the 2nd.

I grew up in hunting in the wilds of northern WI, so the climate in Va. will take me a while to get used to.

I am looking for advice on where to shoot, where to shop, and on concealed carry in Va.

LbDacook

P.S. I am really looking forward to get my NFA Trust setup so I can procure a few NFA items :-)

Yes, things are a bit different. Being 21, having a DL, passing a BGC will get you armed. Proshooter will get you through the CCW class. Excellent teacher. I'd reccomend the Utah class so you can get both permits.
Just a tad different than Il.

Was for me. I had a current Ohio CHL and when I applied for my VA CHP the Court Clerk took that as proof of training.

If you aren't part of the solution, then you obviously weren't properly dissolved.

Yes, as long as you have a certificate of training.
