A little over the top, I'd say.

Wow! That was 100% BS! Kid was subdued, face down with two people on his back. That cop needs to go to jail.

Disgusting! That is use of excessive force. No need for that. Yes I agree he was resisting the lady cop, but with two on his back what was the need to break the arm? Maybe I just don't understand. I think that the man cop is suspended.

Ummmm...no.....I get that the kid is a jerk and is resisting, but a broken arm is WAY over the top. There are two other people on him...where is he going to go? It looked intentional too. NOT OK.

Definitely intentional.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I only see one person ON the kid.mamabearCali wrote:Ummmm...no.....I get that the kid is a jerk and is resisting, but a broken arm is WAY over the top. There are two other people on him...where is he going to go? It looked intentional too. NOT OK.
Never said it was ok. In fact, I said it was extreme.
I just don't feel bad for the YOUNG MAN.
I'm sick and tired of kids these days who have no respect for adults or authority. It's little sh!ts like this one that get caught up in "knockout games".
Far too often these out of control punks make me want to phone Madea.

No info on how why the kid was being subdued yet he is still a "little punk" based on what exactly? The fact that he didn't want to be arrested by the cops who would later break his arm? A little wrestling with some rent-a-cop safety officer is a pretty minor offense compared breaking someone's arm.

Maybe they have no respect for authority because this crap happens too often.

Re: Video: Kid Screams in Agony As Cop Snaps His Arm
I got the impression the female officer was breaking up a fight when she got crossways with the "yoof". He was clearly resisting the officer, but we don't know that the intent was to arrest him. I think if that had been my son pulled out of a confrontation with another youngster his age and treated that way, I'd definitely be out for blood. Hard for me to say any other father wouldn't be entitled to feel the same. Of course, if the female officer had just pulled him away as he was attempting to gut someone with a straight razor, I might feel a little different, but even so, if the guy was already disarmed and restrained (and he clearly was), there was no need to maim him. I think the cop who broke the arm, absent some really compelling extenuating circumstances, ought to be in jail.

I was that age once and have been around enough punks to recognize them when I see 'em.BertMacklin wrote:No info on how why the kid was being subdued yet he is still a "little punk" based on what exactly?
It's obvious a fight was breaking out and they were being split up. The young man wasn't being subdued until he began acting wildly and out of control. (If you look closely, you'll see the cop doesn't grab him until he starts to charge the other teen.)

Well if he did not respect them before he won't now. Now he will KNOW that the police are hell bent on damaging those that they come into contact with. Now he has a legitimate reason to treat every LEO he comes into contact with contempt.
There was no need to break the arm. I do not expect police to act with such callous disregard for a person.

All I see is him moving, his hands touch that one chick before he gets grabbed but again I don't have enough info to pass judgment. Certainly not enough time from the few seconds he is on screen before he hits the ground to determine he is a punk.TheGodfather wrote:I was that age once and have been around enough punks to recognize them when I see 'em.BertMacklin wrote:No info on how why the kid was being subdued yet he is still a "little punk" based on what exactly?

Nah, he'll be alright. He should have to write "I will not fight in school." 500 times with his good hand. And a thank-you note to the officer - "Thank you for breaking my arm and not shooting me."mamabearCali wrote:Well if he did not respect them before he won't now. I saw a fight at Lee-Davis a few years ago, one kid picked up another and body slammed him on the concrete, breaking his back. Maybe this officer was hellbent on protecting the other kids.
