Hot Sauce

Post by tinner666 »

Anybody like Hot Sauce? I went to put tools in a cabinet and found another dozen cases I hadn't sold. Mostly Blairs Sauces since they're the best IMHO.
Anybody interested, post here and give me a call Fri. and I'll see what I can give you. I have everything from Sweet Death to Jersey Death. Sweet says it all, and Jersey Death is only about 800,000 Scovilles.
Tobasco is about 1,000.
Most is dated 2012 best use, but I haven't found any bad ones yet. I can go through a bottle or Original in 3-5 days. Jersey last a long time because it only takes a couple of drops. I may even have some 'Slam' which is good too. Seems like I saw a box of it too.

Who wants a few bottles of free sauce? Not sure when I'll cut the supply off because I use them all.

Tip, when making Salsa dip, add about a teaspoon of JD to it. Adjust as necessary. I melt in a Velveeta and Hormel Chili W/O beans. When the mix is correct, it doesn't burn or taste hot. About a minute later, your hair stands up and it feels just like a Cardio Cath. procedure.
Even people that don't like hot love that one. Dress lightly because you'll be sweating after a handful of chips with it.

Bearing in mind that I'm quite new in the hot food arena I've been trying to find something with more heat than what's in the local Kroger both fresh and bottled.

I'm on a self imposed 1470 calorie/day diet these days but still go through a pound of jalapenos a week. Mainly because they're 99 cents a pound and I don't like the flavor of habaneros. I've been trying other fresh peppers available at Kroger but my budget limits me.
I've lost about 70 pounds in 15 months and I've found that additional heat increases satisfaction of a meal without increasing caloric or salt intake.

Last year I had five jalapeno plants in a flower bed outside my back door that helped with my growing addiction.

OBTW- I think your Tabasco SHU number is a little low.
Here's what I could find on McIlhenny sauces found in local markets:
Tabasco® Green Sauce 1,000
Tabasco® Garlic sauce 1,500
Tabasco® brand Chipotle Pepper Sauce 2,500
Tabasco® brand Pepper Sauce 3,500

I'd love to try some of what you have but not from the high end of the range.
I'd kick in for shipping plus some, of course.

I love hot sauce! Have gotten pretty bored with the usual crap. Never heard of Blair's hot sauce. Wouldn't mind trying some on the "steamy" end.

Two different Blair's sauces are listed here plus a whole bunch more.

Then there's this list: List of North American hot sauces

And this site fascinates me like a snake fascinates a mouse.

Here's what I had in stock, but quit restocking over a year ago due to wife's health and financial issues. I'm keeping the sit in hopes of refiring it, but Blairs is what I have lots of. I think I have other cases in my shop too. http://frankssauces.com/
Alan, Original is Habanero and 'mild'. I even have some Blairs Jalapeno too. Flynn is local in Mechanicvilles. I love his Raspberry/Habanero, especially on Ice Cream.
Guys, give me a call by 10Am. We can meet in town somewhere if you want.

Dave's Ginger Peach is great on Fish, Chicken, ice Cream. I'm out of it. Couldn't keep it in stock due to demand,

I dug out some Jalapeno, Sweet, Sudden, Mega, Jersey, and Original Death bottles. I even have Katos' and tropical Pepper in there.
Of course, if anybody comes by and doesn't mind the mess, I'll let you poke through the two drawers.

I just sent Dave home with some goodies and something I told him, I need to tell all of you.
Using lots of soap, wash your hands after handling any sauce bottles BEFORE touching your face, eyes, or going to the bathroom.

:hysterical: That said, all my sauces are mild and most will quit burning within a couple of hours. Or maybe a bit longer. :hysterical:

Not really, but I do have a few like that. Used correctly, they'll make you sweat without any burn or upset stomach and no issues the next day either. :welcome:

I think he's going to use some Original tonight and hopefully he can let us know how it goes.

That's misconception with real hot sauces. With Frank's and others, it take so much to feel heat, you can light yourself up in the morning. I did that once when I ate a resturant sized can of jalapenos and drank all the juce.

Many of my sauces are so hot, a single drop, to a teaspoon full will warm up a complete pot of chili. It won't burn going in, or going out, but you can taste the fruit flavor of the habaneros, and build up a sweat from the heat without 'side-effects'.
