AR build in .300AAC
AR build in .300AAC
Built this rifle last year. Spikes lower, LRB upper. Generic barrel. Magpul UBR stock, Troy extended rifle length handguard. Future plans; short barrel and can. Shoots pretty well for the cheapest parts I could find. MOA at 100yds.

Re: AR build in .300AAC
Nice build! I've been teetering on getting an upper in 300blk, but not until I figure out how I'm going to start reloading!
Re: AR build in .300AAC
Thanks, it took me forever to find exactly which components I liked together.
The stripped upper I bought as part of a group buy on MD Shooters, of which I am also a member. Actually the group buy was for stripped lowers and the uppers were added as a bonus later for participants. I believe they came to like $65 for the stripped uppers. This was back before Sandy Hook and our own assault weapons ban. So what would that be mid 2012 I think?
I have another I plan to build into a .17 Rem for predator hunting out West. But can't get another lower until I change residency.
If total cost for the upper is your question, about $65 for the upper, $220 for the barrel, $180 for the hand guard, $210 for the BGC, maybe $25 for the upper parts kit. That's about $700 I guess. Some of these things are now lower in price and more available.
