Yep - you can carry California-style (unloaded, no ammo on you, either), and they've got to put a zip tie through the action for you. I don't carry my Ladysmith - can't reholster a revolver with a zip-tie through the cylinder.

IIRC, the police in Ca. are allowed by law to stop and inspect your gun to make sure that its unloaded.

Axel,
I understand that throwing stars are also illegal in CA...

Do they allow the usage of table knives in Ca,
or do you have to just rend your red meat with your canine teeth?

wait...wait...one of my co-workers just informed me that all red meat in CA is actually made of Tofu...which is rated as NKR...
( No knife required ) ...

Perhaps this tyes into one of my other great quests for knowledge, in trying to figure out if CA. invented the first "Spork"... and i do mean "Spoon/Fork" ..not "Space/Dork"... ( again from the un-productive co-worker...)

They outlawed pointy kitchen knives in the United Kingdom a few years after they banned guns. Seems the BGs found a new weapon. I hear they are looking to ban railroad ties and 2x4s in Chicago.

Yep Zeph, no more uniform wooden planks of any kind over 16"
in the entire chi -town region...

Just goes to show that ANYTHING can be used as a weapon...
and that people kill people,...with anything they can get there hands on...

Look up the stats on killings by "Hands/Feet". I guess we will all have to wear fuzzy pink slippers and those oversize kids "boxing gloves" and have those "deadly" elbows, knees and heels removed as well!

True. And they're particularly strict about the 1000-foot rule for schools and prohibited places - to the point where when SoCal group does Open Carry events along the boardwalks, they map out where you are allowed to walk (so as to avoid the 1000-foot rule and prohibited places).

I believe you *can* have a loaded magazine on you in California.

I'm a former resident of that state, and wow am I glad I'm not there anymore.

i open carried at the gun show on friday and saturday. the revolver i carried was zip tied in an interesting way, differently than they've done it at previous shows. the guy left the crane shut and zip tied around the hammer so it wouldn't move. sure, the gun was zip tied, but i was asked twice by vendors while walking around the show if my gun had a zip tie on it. the holster i wore today has a thumb snap retention which covers the hammer, so i guess people couldn't see the zip tie.
