Elections won't take back the country

5 Reasons Why a Constitutional Convention Is a Better Idea than Just Electing More Republicans(or libertarians or conservatives)

Mark Levin's new book The Liberty Amendments proposes that state legislatures use their Article V power to call a convention to propose new constitutional amendments for state ratification. The unorthodox process seems impractical at first -- it's never been used, it's off the mainstream political radar, few people even know it exists, etc. -- but a closer look reveals transformative advantages over the prevailing political strategies of the day.

If elections made a difference it would be illegal to vote by now.

The only way elections will take back the country is if people have to have skin in the game to vote. If people who are third generation welfare mama in public housing on the public dole are allowed to continue to vote we will have these issues.

I know that is not a popular opinion, but when you live off the taxpayer I think its a conflict of interest to vote and I dont mean social security and things like that as people pay into them ( less than they get but they work)

I cannot imagine anyone disagrees with you. Well, maybe the people getting the freebees.

I'd like to see a requirement to be off the dole, pass a test on what the position does that you will be voting for, pass a test that you know the stance of the people on the issues, and require voter cards.

And while I am at it, receipts at the polling booth.

A big issue is education, a co-worker thought we only voted every 4 years. Civics is not taught in schools today.

When the political machine effectively limits the choices to two...and controls both sides....what's the point? You vote for the machine or you vote for the machine or you get ridiculed by the supporters of the machine for refusing to play the rigged game.

There is no peaceful solution.

"The framers anticipated this day might arrive, for they knew republics deteriorate from within. They provided a lawful and civil way to repair what has transpired. We the people through our state legislatures-and the state legislatures acting collectively-have enormous power to constrain the federal government, reestablish self-government, and secure individual sovereignty."

It's too late to try to gain traction once you've slipped over the edge of the cliff. And the fact is the had Ciccinelli won yesterday, we're already in free fall.

For me it's the last stand in Texas. Regroup and continue the fight.

Virginia is lost.
