Anyone living in the highlands of Western VA??
Hello all. I am located in Monterey, Highland Cty, and was wondering if there was anyone on here from Highland, Bath or within the area. I went shooting today on at Gathright WMA (a few miles north of Lake Moomaw on Rt 600) and seems like a pretty nice range. has 6 lanes with targets set up at 25, 50, and 90 yards. Only thing they seem to prohibit is anything larger than .50 cal centerfire cartridges and "explosive" targets. Also; rifle, muzzleloader, or shotgun only. Was actually looking to see if there was anyone else from the area that shoots at this range, and if so; was wondering if they'd be willing to meet up sometime to shoot?

I go to the Bath county range a lot. It's quieter than the range in Augusta county and doesn't seem to attract the riffraff and slobs.
I haven't been to the Gathright range.
I spend a lot of time camping and fishing up that way, I may have to check it out soon.

There aren't nicer people in the world than the Gathrights.

Hey Rover.... How is the Bath County Range? Planning on going there possibly tomorrow... How are the target post's set up?? Any advice on what I should bring for hanging targets? Looking to sight in my Mossberg 500 slug barrel with scope that I picked up the other day as the field/deer combo.
