Shooting logs.....

Post by Diggs27 »

Hello there. Bought myself a Mossberg 702 yesterday; and seriously looking forward to shooting it either tomorrow or Sunday afternoon (going to the range to sight my scope in). I am having a problem trying to locate any kind of shooter's logs for rimfire rifles.... I thought about making up my own on excel; but have no idea where to start... Does anyone on here happen to have anything like this that they'd be willing to share?? What kind of information should I include in this.... I do know ammo type (brand/model) / grain and basic "weather details" (wind, temp, etc.) anything else that I should add?? Like I said; other than typing on forums and such; I am pretty iliterate when it comes to programs like excel and office. If anyone can help me with this; I would greatly appreciate it

Optics used if you plan of changing it from time to time. Of course rounds fired, maybe magazines used if you have a lot of them. That's about all I can think of.

What information you keep depends on what you intend to use it for. I don't keep any logs for my rimfires as I don't have a use for them. I keep very little to no logs for the tactical carbines (mostly to estimate rounds fired for maintenance). I do keep nice logs for the long range tactical rifles because I want to keep track of how it actually shot, etc. I only buy logs for the long range guns.

Sorry, I forgot about this thread. The log book i created is from the USMC log book. It's too large (4 MB) to post here, but anyone that would like to take a look, just send me a PM and give me an email to send it to.
