1. BE READY: Bloomberg anti-gun tour coming to Virginia!
*************************************************************

Michael Bloomberg is having a traveling gun-control horse-and-pony show in 25 states over a 100-day period. At least one of the stops is here in Virginia!

We don't know the exact dates, nor the locations of the tour's stops yet, but we need to flood those areas with Guns Save Lives stickers (and people enjoying large sugary soft drinks ;-) )

It would be fantastic if we had a really big turnout to superimpose our message over his! (Very likely the press will be coming in tow.)

As soon as we have more details, they'll be put out on VA-ALERT. The tour has started, so it could be fairly soon that it gets to Virginia.

Here's a write up on the Bloomberg Nanny Tour:

2. Get ahead of the rush! Pre-order your 2013 VCDL carry cards
*************************************************************

The VCDL Carry Cards, identifying where in Virginia carrying of
firearms is legal (on the front) and the locations where carry is
prohibited (on the back), typically come out in early July, once all
of the new laws have gone into affect and we have had a chance to get
the new cards printed.

If you would like between 1 and 10 newly revised Carry Cards, as fast
as we can get them to you, send a self addressed stamped envelope
(SASE) and your most generous contribution to:

VCDL Carry Card
℅ VCDL Fulfillment Center
PO Box 254
Garrisonville, VA 22463

Make checks for any contribution payable to: VCDL or VCDL-PAC (whichever you see fit to contribute to)

Please enclose a note with:

1) the number of cards desired

2) an email address or phone number in case there are issues with the mailing, and

3) if you prefer NOT to have a "Guns Save Lives" sticker affixed to
your return envelope.

Your SASE with an orange "Guns Save Lives" sticker (unless you opt out
of the sticker) and the requested Carry Cards will be sent to you as
soon as the cards are available in early July.

3. VCDL Carry Cards House Cleaning - Starting July 1st

The color of the VCDL Carry Cards change every year for easier identification.

The 2013-14 card color has not been determined as of yet. However, if you see any
outdated cards (see the listing below) please remove them and, if you
can, send a note to Bruce@vcdl.org letting him know when, where, and how many were
removed, it would be appreciated.

Please note that this is JUST FOR THE CARRY CARDS and NOT the brochures.

2007-08 Goldenrod
2008-09 Green
2009-10 Orange
2010-11 Light Blue
2011-12 Fuchsia (That is manly pink BTW)

5. VCDL meeting in Annandale in JULY to have a speaker talking about reloading!
*************************************************************

There will not be a June VCDL meeting in Annandale (we usually skip June every year).

VCDL member Terrell Prude (AKA "Cowboy T") knows a lot about reloading and will be sharing his knowledge with you at the Thursday, JULY 18 VCDL meeting in Annandale! Here is Terrell's description of his talk/demonstration:

THE GREAT AMMO DEARTH--AND A SOLUTION

Having trouble getting 9mm? .40 S&W? .45 Auto? How about .223? If you can even find it, how's it priced?

How neat would it be if you could--safely--make your own ammunition in the comfort of your own home? Wouldn't it be nice to just be able to pop out a box when you want to go to the range? And how about lowering your ammo costs by more than half?

Wouldn't all that be great?

Yes, all this is possible. See, I have no ammo problems. And I shoot a fair amount, about 3 times a week. I can afford to do so because rolling your own reduces your ammo costs considerably.

I'd like to explain to you how this is done. And I'd like to do it at the next VCDL meeting in Annandale.

See, I got caught by the Great Ammo Rush of 2009. This time, during the G. A. R. of 2013, I was ready. My range frequency hasn't slowed one bit during all this. And if you want to maintain your ability--which we all should be doing as gun owners--you need ammo.

It's called, "handloading", or "reloading". And it's remarkably easy to do. As my cameralady who helps me with my instructional videos puts it, "it's like needlepoint; you can do this."

*************************************************************
6. VCDL President to speak at the Fredericksburg Tea Party Patriots meeting on June 23
*************************************************************

I will be speaking at the Fredericksburg Tea Party Patriots (all the names that the IRS hates) meeting on Sunday, June 23. The meeting is open to the public and will be held at:

Salem Church Branch of the Rappahannock Library System
2607 Salem Church Road
Fredericksburg, VA 22407

The meeting starts at 2 PM and ends at 4 PM. They have another speaker from 2 PM to 3 PM and I will be speaking shortly thereafter.

Carry reminder: for those who may decide to do so, it is legal to carry openly or concealed in public libraries in Virginia.
