Hunter's safety course

Post by thekinetic »

Anyone know where an open one is soon? I'm looking to get one ASAP!

I don't care if I have to pay for it, as all the free ones seem to be full up.

It's ridiculous the nearest one is in June and three hours away at eight in the morning?! That means that given traffic and time allowances I would have to get up at three in the morning to take a ten hour class!!! WTF? :bangin:

They seriously need to change that, make it online or available at the same times in every county or something. I don't know about yall but I don't function well let alone learn on lack of sleep.

I seem to recall a free online course. Take class, pass test, print out certificate. My buddy took one in James City County that way.

There is one but it's only half of the test, you then go take a 6-8 hour class. It's all under the DGIF's website. The only ones you can take all online are CC classes.

I just got my hunting license and had to drive 2 hours to get to it...it was a pain, but I'm looking forward to actually going out hunting now!

You know, I need to get my wife and I signed up for it. The VA regs say you can bypass if you ever had a hunting license - and I did from WV - and they don't stipulate if state matters. Anyway... signed up for Lovettsville.

I have bought non-resident temporary hunting licenses in Kentucky, Tennessee and Maryland using a Virginia license, but it's been a few years. I would have been SOL in Saskatchewan if I hadn't had a Virginia Hunter's Safety card.
