I have a .257 caliber Shilen barrel, 1:10 twist, I got in a trade. Barrel is brand new. Has a 1.22 shank, no threads, Shilen #4 contour, magnum sporter. I am on a budget and would like to build a 250/3000 Savage. I like the new Ruger Americans and they now offer it in 22-250. Does anyone know the contour dimensions of the Ruger American barrel? I have emailed Ruger 10 days ago, but haven't heard back from them. My second choice is to buy a Marlin 22-250 and buy a replacement stock from Boyd's.
