"We need more gun regulations!" People talk about the thousands that were denied firearms because they failed background checks, but no one mentions that only 1% of those people were actually prosecuted for lying on the form (a felony). We process more speeding and parking tickets through the courts but we don't have time to rack up some felony convictions? Straw purchasing and firearms trafficking are also illegal, but the ATF doesn't even go after these people. Our licensed firearms dealers have strict rules to follow, but what's the point when the government doesn't enforce them either? This one shop had 500 violations, some dating back to 2007, but the feds didn't think to yank their license until AFTER Newtown? You want to talk about something that can save lives? Enforce the freakin laws already on the books!!!The ATF found more than 500 violations of federal firearms laws and regulations at the Connecticut gun store that sold two guns found at the Newtown massacre scene, some dating to 2007, but didn't yank the store owner's federal firearms license until after the massacre.
