mossberg 500a vs mossberg 590 tactical

ok i had my mom call bb pawn to look for a mossberg 500 persauder. they said they had a mossberg 500a and a mossberg 590 tactical....
then she called gander mt n they had the 500 persuader, but then she said they would hAve to register you with the federal in all that other BS.
i thought u didnt have to register for a gun in va but watever.. i dont want to deal with the registering cuz it will be in my brothers name cuz he will be purchasing it
so i guess im stuck with a 500a and the 590 tactical. i want to know what is difference between these 2 models and the mossberg 500 persuader.

You do not have to register a firearm in Virginia. The FFL has to record the transfer of a firearm. There's a difference. The FFL holder at a pawn shop will have to do the same - it's not just Gander Mountain. All FFL transfers are required to be recorded and kept on file by the FFL who performs the transfer (for 15 years, I think?)

As indicated by a reply to one of your previous posts on this subject, if you just can't wait - then have your brother buy it and keep possession of it until you turn 18, at which time, he can transfer it to you as a private sale, as discussed in the following post: http://vagunforum.net/virginia-laws/law ... 15211.html

FFL is Federal Firearms License. Anyone who conducts business selling firearms must possess an FFL, which makes them responsible to the federal government (specifically the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms or ATF) for firearm transfers.
